Why is the issue of sustainability important for development ?

Sustainable development can be defined as the development that meets the needs of today without compromising the needs for future. For example we know that petrol and diesel are limited resources, they are not unlimited. We have to save these natural resources and use them only when needed. So that our future generation will not compromise for it.

What do you mean by ‘Sustainable Development’?

Sustainability ensures that resources are not overused and future generation can also use them.

Hence development should take place without compromising the need of future according to Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit 1992.
